1E Class News

20 May 2019

During our Science unit in Term 1, Stage 1 had been exploring ways on how Strathfield South Public School can save water.

This week 1E conducted an investigation on what happens if a tap is not turned off properly. A measuring cup was placed under a dripping tap for 30 minutes and the students worked scientifically to predict what they thought would happen at the end of the investigation including how much water they thought we would collect.

Students were excited to see how much water a dripping tap wastes as well as seeing if their predictions were correct. We collected 100mL of water from our dripping tap which lead us on to discussing the many ways we can enforce sustainable practices within our school as well as in our daily lives. One way we can do this is by using the collected water to water our gardens.
